Now lets imagine that you are walking in the  park and suddenly a vicious dog all of a sudden leaps from  behind you.  A quick rush of blood goes to your head, your heartbeat rate goes upand you start to sweat and feel hot. This is a reaction that is due to the endocrine system.

Whereas the respiratory system supplies oxygen to the blood and the cardiovascular system controls the circulation of blood throughout the body, the endocrine system regulates the flow of hormones within our bloodstream.

Understand that the endocrine system is made up of GLANDS (or organs) that secretes and circulates hormones throughout the body.
