TYPES OF GAIT

(it is very important to know the type of gaits)

Four point gait
Four Point Gait: utilized by crutch users, first on crutch, then the opposite leg followed by the other crutch and then the other leg.

Three point gait
a gait using crutches in which both crutches and the affected leg are moved forward together and then the normal leg is moved forwar

Two point gait
a gait using crutches in which the right foot and left crutch or cane are advanced together, and then the left foot and right crutch.

Total Hip Replacement

Hip replacement surgery, also called total hip arthroplasty, involves removing a diseased hip joint and replacing it with an artificial joint, called a prosthesis. Hip prostheses consist of a ball component, made of metal or ceramic, and a socket, which has an insert or liner made of plastic, ceramic or metal.
