Exercise Electrocardiography Testing (Stress Test)

– tests the heart during activity

– a treadmill is usually involved.

Remember:

• If a pt. is unable to tolerate excercise, an IV infusion of Persantine or Adenocard is given to dilate the coronary arteries and stimulate the effects of exercise

Before Procedure:

– Informed Consent is needed.

– Withheld any products with theophylline, calcium channel blockers and beta blockers.
