Benzodiazepines (is one of the most common group of anticonvulsants that you will encounter in your NCLEX exam.
- It has hypnotic, anxiolitic, anticonvulsive properties.
Benzodiazepines act as a central nervous system depressant.
Example is:
- Clonazepam
The following benzodiazepines are used to treat Status Epilepticus:
- Diazepam
- Lorazepam
Hydantoins

- Phenytoin
