Hypospadias
A congenital anomaly of the penis in pediatric patients.
- opening of the urethra is on the underside, rather than at the end, of the penis
TREATMENT:
The child will have surgery between 16-18 months of age.
- Infants with hypospadias should not be circumcised.
- The foreskin should be preserved for use in later surgical repair.
- Surgery is usually done before the child starts school.
- Recommend repair is before the child is 18 months old.
Enuresis
A condition in which a child is unable to control bladder function regardless of the age in which they are expected to be able to control their voiding.
